Working Towards Goals: Here’s What You Can Do…

Are you facing difficulties in trying to get yourself motivated on working towards goals that you have set for yourself?

Or somehow you find yourself losing “steam” and the motivation to work toward them?

Today, I’d like to share with you a simple tip that’s guaranteed to get you start pumping again full of motivation to work towards your goals.

What I want you to do is… Take out the piece of paper containing the goals that you have set for yourself…

And for each of the goals you have set, I want you to write beside it… What will you be missing out should you NOT accomplish that particular goal.

Working Towards Goals: Write Down, Beside Each Goal, What You Will Miss Out If You Do Not Accomplish The Goal...

Let me give you an example here: Say for example your goal is “I WILL Lose 50lbs By 31st December 2012.”

Now, think about what you could be missing out should you miss out on this goal… It could be:

- You’d be laughed at by people around you because you’ve proved them right that you can’t achieve your goal.

- You may not be able to get the person of your dreams to go on a date with you… Just because he/she despise your present size!

- Your risk from suffering from obesity-related health problems (such as heart attacks, stroke, diabetes, etc.) are very much increased.

- You feel utterly disappointed because you can’t fit into your favorite clothes simply because you fail to lose the weight you need to lose.

And the list goes on and on and on…

Working Towards Goals: Most Of The Time, Missing Out On The Great Things That's Waiting For You In Life Simply Because You Fail To Accomplish Your Goal Is Unthinkable...Now, after making a whole list of what you will miss out should you not accomplish each and every goal that you’ve set, I want you to ask yourself this question:

“Can I afford to miss out all these in my life?”

Many a times, the thought of having to miss out on the great things in life (should you fail to accomplish the goals) is just unthinkable…

With that in mind, you’ll suddenly feel an adrenaline rush once again, full of motivation to want to start working towards goals that you’ve set and accomplish them.

How To Set A Goal And Achieve ItFirst and foremost… Happy 2012 to you! :)

It’s a start of a brand new year once again… And speaking of which, have you already set your goals for the year?

If you have already done it, well done! But if you have not, or don’t know how to set them, I’m going to guide you along to show you exactly how to set a goal and achieve it.

Are you ready? Let’s go!
 
 
Step #1 – Set Yourself A Specific Goal

How To Set A Goal And Achieve It - First Step Is To Set Yourself Specific GoalsFirst and foremost, what you need to do is to set specific goals. It’s no use saying “I hope to lose some weight come the end of 2012…” because it’s not specific enough… And chances are, you’re not going to achieve this goal.

What you need to do instead is to be very specific with what you want to achieve, such as, “I WILL lose 50lbs of excess fats off my body by 31st December 2012…”. Can you see from this goal that its very specific? (with exactly how much fats you want to lose AND by when you want to achieve this goal).

Now, it’s your turn to set your goal:

“I WILL __________[ Write Down Your Goal Here ]__________ By __________[ Give Yourself A Specific Deadline ]__________ “
 
 
Step #2 – Identify The Tasks You Need To Do To Achieve Your Goal

Now that you’ve identified your goal (if you have not done so, please do it NOW!), you need to identify a list of tasks you need to do to achieve your goal.

Continuing on from my previous example of wanting to lose 50lbs of excess fats by 31st December 2012, some of the tasks you need to do include:

- Signing up for a gym membership
- Include some exercising routine into your life everyday
- Make changes to your dietary habits
- Getting the clothes that you want to wear (which will fit into) your “newly found” body

How To Set A Goal And Achieve It - Second Step Is To Identify The Tasks Needed To Achieve Your Goals

And the list goes on and on…
 
 
Step #3 – Break Down The Tasks Into Bite Sized Chunks And Pen Them Down In Your Calender

How To Set A Goal And Achieve It - Final Step Is To Pen What You Need To Do Each And Every Single Day (As You Move Toward Your Ultimate Goals Set) On Your CalendarWhat you need to do next is to break down each of the tasks you have identified into bite-sized chunks… To the extent where you’ll be able to finish what you have set out to do in a day, every single day…

Let me give you an example… Say you want to incorporate some exercise routine into your life everyday, you may want to do the following:

Monday – Jog a distance of 10km, spending no more than 15 minutes to complete the distance.

Tuesday – Hit the gym, making use of the gym ball to perform exercises for 15 minutes working on your abdominal muscles.

Wednesday – Go for a swim… Where you aim to finish 10 laps in 15 minutes.

So on and so forth (you get the meaning here).
 
 
Now that you’re done with the 3 step process, make sure you FOLLOW THEM!.

Need motivation? Here’s one simple trick to motivate yourself to work toward accomplishing your goal… I want you to visualize the exact state you’ll be in when you accomplish your goal…

Using the example where you want to lose 50lbs come the end of the year once again, you will want to imagine yourself with a 6-pack ab muscle, finally be able to fit into tight fitting top, and imagine girls ogling at you, admiring your body, as you’re walking in the beach topless…

Great feeling, isn’t it? And one that certainly get you motivated to want to achieve your goal of losing 50lbs come the end of the year! :)

The above are the exact steps on how to set a goal and achieve it and I’ve been using these 3 steps every single year, allowing me to achieve all of my goals every single year without fail. And I’m confident it’ll work for you as well! :)
